Hinduism and Process Panentheism

what is reli

Process panentheism, a method of theology, avoids the problems associated with materialistic and classical naturalism. This view of sensory perception is based on a nonsensory mode and explains the interplay between the mind, body and God. This view also avoids the problems associated with dualism and supernaturalism.

Hinduism

Hinduism is a multitheistic religion. It can be divided into various categories such as monotheistic or panentheistic. Hindus are people who believe that one god is capable of fulfilling multiple roles. A panentheist believes that all of the universe is part of a single being or Brahman.

Panentheistic derives its name from Greek roots, and literally means "God is all things." This view is based in part on the Bradaranyaka Upanisad Hindu scripture. This scripture tells the story of a dialogue between a student & a sage.

Neoplatonism

Neoplatonism, a panentheistic religion is one in which God is both transcendent One and World-Soul. This latter is also immanent within the world. This outlook is carried over from Heraclitus' panentheistic theology. He believed that everything is one.

Panentheism is one of many related theologies. They all share some fundamental affirmations. An in-depth exploration of this group of beliefs will reveal the similarities and differences.

Kashmir Shaivism

Kashmir Shaivism states that there is only one Creator (or Absolute Reality), which exists in all of the universe and is the source and origin of all life and all knowledge. Paramasiva, the creator, is impossible to describe because He is infinite. Therefore, He is beyond comprehension for any mind. This is the most important aspect of Kashmir Shaivism.

Kashmir Shaivism's doctrine on the Absolute is nondual as it is theistic. It asserts that everything is real and that it can also be spiritual. Absolute reality can be described as the state that is pure Consciousness. Pure Consciousness is divine, joyful, and radiant. The Absolute is aware all beings and is always aware.

Theology of the Saivite

The theology of Saivism is panentheistic, and it proclaims God Siva as the embodiment of love. This love is both immanent and transcendent. God created the world. In this world, we can progress in our evolution towards moksha or salvation.

Panentheism represents a middle ground between monotheism traditional and theism. Traditional monotheism rejects God's immanent existence. Panentheism affirms that God is in fact immanent within all of the universe. This belief encourages an intimacy between God's world and God by allowing God to be transcendent and immanent.

Vaishnavism

Each sub-denomination in the Hindu pantheon teaches a different view on God. Northern Vaishnavas view Vishnu, for example, as Krishna while southern Vaishnavas consider him to be Rama. These differences aside there are five major schools of Vaishnavism. These schools differ in their conception of God and their view of the human relationship. Ramanuja founded Shrivaishnavism as one of the major schools.

Vaishnavism doesn't believe in a pantheistic god, but it's not monotheistic. Its theology is founded on the Vedas, which recognize a supreme entity in three aspects: The material universe, the spiritual realm, and the 'personal God'. God, in this framework, transcends all aspects of creation. He is both personal as well as universal.
