Half of those surveyed said that they believe not in God but in a higher power or force. If asked why they didn't believe God, more than half replied that they did not believe but believed in a higher power or force spiritual beyond themselves.
Transcendent belief
Transcendence is the belief in a higher power that exists above and beyond what we see. It does not need to be a God or spiritual entity. It can be a concept or a god. One example is the Enron executives who promoted the idea that their company was changing business by doing ethical and right things.
Many religions share the concept of transcendent belief. Different religions may hold different views on the nature and purpose of god. However, they all believe that there is a powerful, transcendent power who orchestrates all events in our lives. There is much debate over the nature of God, but the fact that it created the entire world is the key.
Agnosticism
The Greek word agnostos, which means "without God", and the French term atheisme are the words that gave rise to the word agnostic. Agnosticism does not necessarily mean atheism. Although some people don't believe in any gods, it does not mean that they can't have a spiritual life.
Agnosticism can be described as a philosophical position that rejects the existence or possibility of God. Agnosticism, contrary to atheism is a philosophical position that holds that there are many truths to be discovered about the universe and life.
Apathy
Apatheism can be described as a person who has no faith in a higher power. Apatheists believe they can attain existential security without God. Apathy towards God is the opposite to love. There are numerous Scriptures that prove this is not possible.
In Psalm 14, God refers to a fool as someone who doesn't feel the need for God. As a result, the hiker fled from the bear without even remembering its characteristics. Apathy is the result of a lack emotion.
