Prometheus in Greek Mythology

Prometheus was a Greek hero. Hesiod and Pindar are just a few of the authors who mention him. Prometheus can be seen in the Argonautica by the Argonauts.

Homer

Homer and Prometheus both come from Greek mythology. Their relationship to the origin of fire is what ties them together. Prometheus killed a bull in Mecone under Zeus' rule and covered its stomach and the best parts with skins. The stomach was placed on top a heap that contained the fat and bones.

Hesiod

In the late eighth century BC, Hesiod wrote about the myth of Prometheus. He calls the legendary inventor of flame the son of TitanIapetus. This is Menoetius' brother, while Zeus is his lowly rival.

Pindar

Pindar is a famous Greek mythological character and the son Daiphantus & Cleodice. His family is said to be descended from the Aegidae, a noble clan from Thebes that traces its lineage back to the legendary founder of Thebes, Cadmus. Megacleia married Pindar, and they had two daughters and a son.


Pythagoras

Pythagoras, a Greek legends character, is from the time the ancient Greeks. He was an expert in the afterlife and the soul, which he believed reincarnated. He was also a teacher of religious rituals. His followers believed he had supernatural abilities and lived according to strict rules. They studied mathematics and other sciences, but they focused on the mystical aspects of his teachings.

Percy Bysshe Shelley

Percy Bysshe Shelle, a British Romantic poet, wrote "Prometheus Unbound", a collection of 10 poetry. These poems were written at the height of Shelley's poetic powers. The story traces the history of the Greek god and his relationship with humans.

Prometheus, god of fire has a long history. Prometheus, the god fire, is mentioned in Greek mythology as he helps the Olympian gods defeat Titans. He helped humanity develop writing and mathematics, and later taught medicine and science to the world. He also defied Zeus by stealing fire from him, but returned it to earth where humans put it to good use, cooking food, and forming great civilisations.
