Is reiki safe? This is one of the most frequently asked questions. The good news? It is safe. There are no side effects. It does NOT interfere with medical treatment or cause fatigue. There is some mystery about the mechanism of Reiki.

No known negative side effects

While there are known side effects of reiki, research has shown that it is beneficial to patients with chronic pain. Reiki is used in many hospitals and doctors to treat chronic illnesses. Reiki is a stress reliever that can also reduce pain.

Reiki is said to cause deep relaxation, emotional stress relief, and general health. While Reiki should not be considered a substitute for medical treatment, it may enhance or complement that treatment. The researchers reviewed 13 peer-reviewed Reiki research studies published between 1998 & 2016. There were seven single-blind and four double-blind studies. They also included studies using rats, short-term and long-term Reiki sessions, and clinical trials.

Although Reiki does not increase blood pressure, it has been found to be effective in reducing blood pressure levels. The Reiki practitioner can relax during a session and feel the benefits of the treatment. Reiki's effects are felt all over the body. It has been compared to Shi Feng and the meds commonly used to treat high blood pressure. Reiki reduces pressure by working on the blood vessels.
