Monotheism means belief in a single God. There are many varieties of monotheistic religions. There are several monotheistic religions. Each faith and practice is unique. Let's look at the differences among them.

Islam

Islam is monotheistic religion that emphasizes God's oneness. Islam teaches that God is the only Creator and the only one deserving of worship. This concept is reiterated throughout the Qur'an. The Oneness of Allah is the focus of most Qur'an verses.

Christianity, Judaism or Islam are the main monotheistic religions. These three traditions trace their origins to Abraham. Abraham, who was the father of the Abrahamic religions, was asked to sacrifice his only son, but God intervened to save him. He then offered Abraham a ram to sacrifice. The promise of the Messiah is the center of Jewish hope in the Bible.

Judaism

Judaism can be described as a monotheistic, ethnic religion that belongs to the Abrahamic family. Its roots are in the Middle East, in the Bronze Age. It is based in Jewish history and beliefs. It is the oldest and most widely-practiced world religion, and it has been in existence for over 2000 years.


Jewish people believe God created everything, and all humans were created in God's image. Judaism teaches that God will judge us at the end of our lives. It has many holidays, traditions, rules and is distinct from other religions. There are approximately 5 million Jews in America today. There are thousands of synagogues throughout the country. Jewish people believe that helping other people is a way to make the world a better place.

The Torah depicts polytheism, a wicked and false religion, as polytheism. Deuteronomy32:16-17 accuses God of accusing the Israelites for worshipping false gods. However, modern scholarship suggests that polytheism has its roots in the monotheistic movement and is a much more complicated question than many people believe.

Zoroastrianism

Zoroastrianism has a deep impact on the worldviews its followers, even though it is one of most obscure religions. Teachings of the religion include the notions of hell and Heaven, the Judgment Days, and free will. It also teaches angels and demonic existence.

Zoroastrians believe that human souls can reach perfection during the current life and then go on to meditate on their deeds in the next life. The best balance of deeds leads you to heaven while the worst balance leads to hell. Zoroastrianism encourages individuals to be good and moral beings.

Zoroastrianism can be considered the oldest and most ancient religion in the world. Its followers were a wealthy minority that believed in honesty and respect. They fled India and became the Parsis.
