Homer’s Homeric Hymn to Demeter
Homer's Homeric Hymns is a collection 33 hymns to gods, written in Greek. These hymns are epic in meter and use the exact same dialect as the Iliad or Odyssey. These hymns are some of the most well-known pieces of ancient Greek literature.
The Homeric Hymn for Demeter deals specifically with Persephone's death. Persephone's father, Cronos, had set up a marriage with Hades, and after Persephone died, the earth opened so that Hades could return from underground.

Homer's Oedipusrex
Oedipus summons Tiresias the blind prophet to help him. This is the beginning of Homer’s Oedipus ReX. Tiresias claims to have the answer but refuses speaking. After hearing this, Oedipus goes into a deep state of denial and accuses Tiresias of complicity in Laius's murder. Oedipus thinks Creon paid Tiresias.
Oedipus, or Oedipus the Rex, is a Greek tragedy which dates back to the 4th century BC. The play opens with Oedipus (king of Thebes) sending Creon, his servant, to Delphi to inquire about the plague affecting Thebes. According to the oracle the plague is caused because of the unsolved Murder of Laius. As a result, Oedipus vows to find Laius and solve the plague.
Homer's Orpheus
Homer's Iliad was the first time Orpheus, a Greek mythology figure, appeared in Homer in the 7th Century BCE. His story ends in 9th century CE. He was both a mortal and sometimes demigod, and he was married to Eurydice, a famous sea nymph.
Reincarnation stories are best illustrated in the story of Orpheus. Homer describes how rebirth works in the Iliad as well as the Odyssey. He also explains how the Moirae women function. The Orphic stories have been layered upon the Homeric description for the afterlife.

Homer's Eurydice
Homer's Eurydice is a classical Greek myth about a mortal nymph and her love affair with the god Orpheus. The story begins in the 7th century BCE when Eurydice first appears in Homer's Iliad and ends around the ninth century BCE. Eurydice was the child of Apollo, and she married Orpheus the legendary musician.
Eurydice fell madly in love with Orpheus. Orpheus broke his promise that he would never look back. Eurydice left him and Orpheus tried to go back into the Underworld, to plead for her life. When he got there, he discovered that Hades had blocked his entry to Hades. He couldn't even sing.
